Lorie has been a licenced Esthetician for over 20 years now and the very successful owner of the Academy of Excellence for 14 years.
Lorie graduated from Blanche McDonald (Vancouver) in 1983. Her passion and dedication to being at the forefront of the industry's latest trends has her continually updating her education and skills. Her professional portfolio includes Dawn Craig's Professional Makeup Artistry (United Kingdom), Jacques Lee Pelletier Make Up (Montreal), Advanced Spa Therapies, Aromatherapy, Avance Academy of Wellness (New York), Cosmetology School of Canada (massage), Danielle Silverman (massage), and Vodder Method Lymphatic Drainage, just to highlight a few.
Lorie's launching of the Academy of Excellence Advanced Training Centre (AEATC) serves as another example of Lorie's commitment to the education and professional growth of practicing cosmetology professionals on Vancouver Island. As well, Lorie is actively pursuing her diploma in Adult Education.

Danielle St. Jacques Rand - Registrar
Danielle has been working in the Beauty industry since 1998. Her years of previous experience working with people and providing service exceeding expectation has prepared her for her continued success as the Registrar at the Academy.
She is well versed in the needs of both our clients and our students. Her experience ranges from being on the opening team of a world destination spa to leading classrooms on 'Customer Service and Communications.'

Danielle
Tina Kelly - Registrar
Tina has been involved in private career training since 1992. She has a solid background in admissions, management and program facilitation.
Prior to joining the team as Registrar, Tina was a long-term client of the Academy of Excellence and is dedicated to continuing the tradition of "excellence" that students, clients and staff associate with the Academy.

Tina
 Emily Da Silva - Front Desk Administrator
Emily has been working in the Service and Tourism industry since 1999 and has been with the Academy since 2003.
Her previous experience working with people and providing exceptional customer service continues in her position as the Academy's Front Desk Administrator.
She is well versed in the needs of both clients and students. Emily is responsible for booking the Academy's clients, i.e. for the students practical portion of the course.
"My commitment to the Academy is to deliver a high quality of service, to ensure all students, clients and staff's needs are taken care of. My belief is that the students should be working in an upbeat, fun and focused environment. I do my best to contribute to that philosophy daily."
Emily
Greg Abbott - Hair Design Education Manager & Instructor
Greg is a fully qualified Hair Stylist and Esthetician with over 10 years experience as an educator. He graduated here at the Academy in 1979 studying additionally at the London School of Hair & Esthethics.
His vast experience and natural patience lends to his being a highly qualified and sought after instructor whom we are proud to have on our team here at the Academy. Greg has working knowledge of numerous product lines and cutting and colouring curriculums including Sassoon, Rusk, Sorbie, Loreal and Aveda. Greg's enthusiastic personality helps creates a supportive environment that encourages his students to recognize their own potential and creates a rich learning environment, he is quick to support teamwork, cooperation and the fun of learning.
 "I believe that learning works best when it comes from self interest and motivation; from a personal level of curiosity. I am comitted to facilitating the students' learning to support the highest development of their skills and talents to best prepare them to enter the world of cosmetology. I keep an eye on the latest up and coming industry trends in fashion, makeup and hair styles to integrate them into the curriculum wherever possible, as I am committed to each student becoming a leader in their field."
